Casa Santangelo, former summer-residence of Marquis Nicola Santangelo di Napoli, Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (1785 – 1851)

Hidden in the heart of the old centre of Salerno, behind massive wooden doors, you will find a palazzo where time seems to have stood still.
Built and decorated in the beginning of the 19th century for the marquis and his family to escape hectic Napoli in the summer and enjoy this palazzo at the seaside. In those days this palazzo was directly located at the seaside, Salerno was a small unknown fishing village.

ROOMS

All Suites still retain their original frescoed ceilings, hand-painted wallpaper and terracotta tile floors.
In the evening you will go to sleep in history, the next day you will wake up under a mesmerising ceiling.

Although our Suites retain all the original charm of their time, they are all equipped with: Air Conditioning, Heating, High Speed WiFi Connection and Smart TV.
Furthermore, the bathrooms of our rooms are very modern and equipped with large showers, amenities and all the comforts.
In addition, a fully equipped and supplied kitchen area is available to our guests.

A unique hotel stay that I would love to experience again

Incredible accommodation with well-insulated rooms and beautiful interior design. Nice breakfast around a common table or in the room. It was always easy to get in touch with Alexis. The hotel is located right in the center of the Centro Storico, but once inside you did not notice the life going on in the street outside.

Special experience sleeping in a museum

Amazing house to stay – we stayed in a very big room + living room and had two separate bathroom. Very special to sleep in an old house. We really liked the decoration and furniture . Location is also good.

We were whisked back to another time of lavish rooms and amazing hospitality

Alexis set up a lovely breakfast every day, in addition we always had a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit in our room with a Nespresso machine to use. The rooms were beautifully decorated with lovely antiques and stunning high ceilings. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location was perfect for walking to restaurants. Also, Alexis was really helpful in making dinner reservations and had many suggestions for dinner. He assisted us in setting up a fantastic last minute day trip to Paestum and a Mozzarella farm, where you can visit the Buffalo.

A holiday that goes back in time

I had a delightful stay at the old palace-themed hotel. Stepping into its medieval-themed ambiance was like entering a time capsule. The decor, from tapestries to chandeliers, was impressive. The staff was very friendly, and my room was very spacious with a good view. Particularly, the host was always willing to help out with recommendations on places to visit. The hotel blends history with modern comforts (such as modern toilets) seamlessly, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts seeking a royal experience.

Very cool/clean place in the heart of the city

It’s location is perfect. Right in the heart of the shops and restaurants but on a very quiet street. The breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit , yogurt and beautiful cuts of meat and fresh bread. The property and shared kitchen was VERY clean.
